In the end
At the end of The Duff, Bianca and Wesley realize that they need each other. Bianca made Wesley a better person, and without her invovled in his life, he fell apart. What neither of them knew was that despite the differences that they had, they were falling for each other. Wesley was the popular guy that all of the girls wanted and Bianca was the girl who had a few close friends and not much else. The book really dug into the whole "Opposites attract" concept and I highly reccomend it to any girl. Its not really something a guy would enjoy as much as a girl. I found it very entertaining and hard to put down. I will definitely be reading more books by Kody Keplinger in the future.

Hockey!
Hockey is another one of my favorite things. Ever. I absolutely love going to the Phantoms games with my family and friends in Adirondack. Being able to have season tickets definitely has its advanatages. I've met the team every single year and even have inside jokes with some of them. They are such a down to earth team and even if they played a bad game before you meet them, they still manage to have a smile on their face for the sake of the fans. I've even had the chance to get players' jerseys over the years. My family has a total of seven Phantoms jerseys. Game worn and all. Some of them, we've even recieved smelling like sweat. As gross as it sounds, its actually kind of cool to know that they put their heart and soul into the games and never give up. The player in the picture, Zac Rinaldo, is by far my favorite player. He was moved up to the NHL, but I still cheer him on with the Philadelphia Flyers.
Zac always brings a huge amount of energy to the games when he plays. He has his teammate's backs and isn't afraid to fight if he has to. He has a great personality and a great sense of humor. He is very down to earth and can always put a smile on my face. He is an awesome player and will always be my favorite.

The Duff
After the incident with Wesley Rush at the teen nightclub, Bianca and he get paired together for a school project. Bianca hates the idea, but even if she does, they still have to work together. They decide to meet at his house to begin working on the project. A few days later, she finds out that her mother had filed for divorce against her father, causing him to drink excessively. Before Bianca was born, her mother had made him go to AA meetings to take care of his alcoholism because he was abusive when he'd had too much. Bianca gets frustrated and while her and Wesley were supposed to be working on their school project, she kisses him, out of the blue. He is stunned by what had happened because he had known that she did not like him very much, but Bianca felt a rush from it, almost as if it was stress relieving for her. Like it took the pain away and made everything feel better. In her wors, "It was so wrong, but it felt so right."

Kenny Chesney!
Last Thursday, I attended the Kenny Chesney : No Shoes Nation concert at the Times Union Center. Kacey Musgraves was the first act and I was amazed. She is incredibly talented and I would definitely see her again. Her song "Merry Go Round" is great. Eli Young Band was next, and when they sang "Even If It Breaks Your Heart", there were so many people there, that you could hear them singing the song over the band. But the crowd didn't get as loud until Kenny came out. During "Summertime", "Beer in Mexico" and "Out Last Night", which he dedicated to anyone who was going to work or school the next day, the crowd had consumed the sound of the band and sent chills up my spine. I was blown away at how loud it was. At that point, I almost tried to imagine what it would feel like in his shoes. Sure, it was incredible to experience for me, but for him, it must've been the most amazing feeling in the world. When you have thousands of people reciting your songs, word for word, right on key, it must be amazing. I ended up losing my voice because I had so much fun, and I bought the tour t-shirt as a souvenir. All in all, it was one of the best concerts I have ever been to. One Direction has a little competition when I see them this summer, but then again, they are my favorite band, so Nobody Compares to them. That will definitely be a night to remember.

The Duff
I have recently begun reading this book for my Honors English project. The book is called The Duff (The Designated Ugly Fat Friend), written by Kody Keplinger. I had found out about the book through an article in Seventeen Magazine, and thought it sounded great. The first chapter begins with three best friends at a teen club in their hometown. Casey, Jessica, and Bianca. Casey and Jessica are having the time of their lives and Bianca is sitting at the bar drinking a cherry coke when the most popular guy in school, Wesley Rush, sits next to her. Wesley Rush is the type of guy who is intimate with every girl he can get his hands on, and Bianca wants nothing to do with him. When she asks him to leave, he ignores her and continues on talking about how she was practically his decoy, or as he liked to call her, the Duff. He explained that by talking to her, it would make her friends envious and help him get in bed with them. Astonished, Bianca whips her cherry coke at Wesley, soaking him. She then storms out with Casey and Jessica, making a huge scene.
So far, I find the book amazing. Its scandalous and can keep the reader interested, even if it isn't a very 'relatable' storyline. It's unexpected and I love it after only one chapter. Its dramatic, which any teenage girl would love. What teenage girl wouldn't love a juicy story, especially this one. They can tell their friends and gossip about it without getting in trouble for it!
